Problem

FixLab transferred from MonaDevAI/FixLab to microsoft/FixLab, but installation prompts, package/plugin links and Windows bootstrap defaults still referenced the former location.

Change

  • Update maintained installation/setup Markdown and release/marketplace instructions to the Microsoft repository.
  • Update the Windows bootstrap source, CLI troubleshooting link and package/plugin repository metadata.
  • Explain that transferring the repository does not update existing local installations.
  • Preserve package versions, dependencies, original author attribution and unrelated working-copy edits.

Validation

  • Focused tests pass: 54 installation/CLI/documentation tests.
  • npm pack --dry-run contains the required files (GitHub CI).
  • Documentation is updated; documentation and formatting checks pass.
  • No credentials, tokens, private endpoints, or test data are included.
  • Local Windows follow-up passes: all 10 affected permission tests, all 51 Playwright tests (one worker), and package validation (87 files). The original full run passed 487/497 unit tests; 10 folder-permission cases failed because the test TEMP directory was incorrectly placed beneath protected .copilot state. Those cases passed after rerunning with normal external TEMP. The original full run is still recorded as failed, not reclassified as a pass. No production guard or source code was changed to accommodate the test environment.
  • Exact-head GitHub checks pass: test, windows-containment, analyze, and CodeQL for 90263fc0967d3d107304b981a5e8a986e7e33a1c. CI includes static/documentation/policy checks, unit tests, Playwright and package validation.

The fresh checkout initially lacked ESLint. npm ci then exposed the existing platform-specific optional Copilot SDK lockfile gap. Restored validation dependencies using the configured internal feed with npm install --package-lock=false --no-audit --no-fund; verified the lockfile stayed unchanged. No registry configuration was changed.

Risk

No runtime workflow, authentication, environment or publication permissions change. This does not publish an npm release, replace existing local installations, grant Microsoft/EHU team access, or merge the separate marketplace submission. Existing local-only enhancements must be preserved before reinstalling.

Marketplace PR github/copilot-plugins#95 was updated in place for the new source at 515993d9ee72160d4f18c78ec0d9fbd52df4c26b; its license-compliance check passes, and it remains a separate review.
